Thanks for the add! You've got a pretty fine directory there, and I'm honored to be on it.

Your question is rather complex, actually. I find that it is more acceptable to be gay in urban settings, and more acceptable to be overweight in rural areas. However, I personally think that the somewhat recent trend of fat acceptance isn't such a good thing. Obese people shouldn't be stoned in the streets (god only knows, 'living big' is hard enough as it is), but they also shouldn't be led to think that staying overweight is a reasonable long-term life choice. If people hadn't discriminated against me, I would still be 450 pounds or maybe even dead.

On the other hand, I believe being marathoner skinny is just as much of a personal life choice. People who are five or ten pounds overweight are fine in my book, but I am very wary of leading the actually obese into complacency. It isn't a happy or fulfilling life, and sometimes a little social pressure can make a big difference.

Oh, and I'm back in Philadelphia for the summer, or at least the month.

Thanks again!

Congratulations on the weight-loss in progress. You've done extremely well. I myself am off plan and trying to build up the will power to get back with it. I saw some before pictures on yoru site. I'd be interested in seeing some current ones... you must be looking good.

FYI, I added your feed to my low-carb blog watch website lowcarbblogs.blogspot.com.

Quick question... Hope you don't mind me asking... which do you think is a bigger taboo causing more descrimination, being fat or being gay?

Also wondering... What's your home town? Where are you living during the summer?

@ girlie: If I'm not blogging at least weekly, I'm either dead or eating carbs en masse. Ha.

@ Tracey: Our last cheat lasted nigh three weeks, so don't feel bad. I wish I had stopped at a week! Thanks for the read.

It helped me to read this, since I'm just getting myself over a stumble myself. Mine unfortunately lasted a week instead of two days, and it was so full of sugary and starchy debauchery that I haven't even gone near a scale to see what the damage was. Getting back on track, though.

Your dinner party menu sounds delicious, by the way! There's nothing like a fully low-carb group meal.
